Nininger Spheroid Star

These were once commissioned by the manager of a hotel to adorn the entryway with actual stars made of stardust as customers came through.

Nininger made a number of these by cutting sheet aluminum into a star shape, gluing Canyon Diablo Spheroids to the star, and grinding them down to make them shine.

The hotel owner, however, did not agree with this decision and Nininger was forced to cancel the project, suffering the cost of both time and material.

From time to time after that Nininger would hand these out to good friends or customers.

These stars are extremely rare, historic and famous.
